My Girls' Birthdays!

It's official! I've lost the plot! I can't believe that I forgot to post photos of my girls' birthdays and party from back in March! It's one of each year's biggest crafting events and I forgot! To make up for it, get ready for a bombardment of photos from the celebrations, starting with photos from their Hula Pool Party invitations...

Here is the cake (and my personal work of art) that I made for them...

Then there were the party bags...

Yes, all 30-odd of them!

The Pass the Parcel...

These decorated jars were inside the party bags...

This is the Chupa Chup bouquet I made...

And here is a photo of my beautiful Hula birthday girls, Mia who turned eight and Demi who turned five...

Now to the cake I made Mia on her actual birthday that we celebrated with family. It was a Spongebob cake. Mia loves Spongebob...

This is a phot of Mia with her presents from us, an Ipod Touch, a Justin Bieber top and a Wimpy Kid DVD...

Now we come to the Hello Kitty cake I made for Demi on her actual birthday...

...and a photo of my baby girl with her new Ipod, Justin Bieber top and book...

Phew! As you can imagine there many, many more photos of these events but these are the ones I really wanted to share with you. My posts are normally so short and sweet but this one sure is an exception. I hope it wasn't too long.

See you all soon with a much shorter post!

Take care,
Andrea

Holiday Fun Card Class!

Hi everyone!

Well, the school holidays are here so what better time than right now to have my first official kids' card class!

These are the projects the kids we made...

The projects were kept bright and simple enough for little hands to manage without frustration. Stamping was kept to a minimum as I know how disappointing stamping smudges can be. There were some minor smudges but none that couldn't be covered with the clever placement of some additional litte die cut butterflies.

The girls all had a great time and were very proud of their creations, which they finished quicker than most of my adult class attendees! Ha ha...

Their hard work was followed with lots of junk food, which they all enjoyed, of course! Quotes of the day were, "This is just like a feast!" and "I love this popcorn. It's just like the popcorn they sell at the movies!" Priceless. Ha ha...

Well done to the participants and thank you for taking part.

Baby Tees Card

A quick 'hello' to you all. I hope you're all well.

Just taking a minute or two to show you this card I just finished for one of the mums at school who gave birth to a little baby boy on the weekend. I can't wait to meet him. Here is the card...

Colours used were Crumb Cake (love Crumb Cake!), Bashful Blue and So Saffron. I used the cute little Baby Tees jumbo wheel for the images. The sentiment is from the Silhouette Sentiments hostess set. It was punched with the Jewellery Tag Punch. The button, coloured twine and coat hanger are all from my stash.

See? Told you it was quick!

Take care.

Sew Suite

I have a Sew Suite feature for you today. Three cards made using the gorgeous Sew Suite stamp set from the current mini catalogue. It's such a great set. I have used it before on some of my scrapbooking pages but this is the firs time I have actually used it to make some cards. Here are the cards, starting with my favourite...

Which one is your favourite?

Feel free to leave a comment & let me know.

Catch you soon.

Playing Catch Up

Scrapbooking is just one of those things that is never quite up to date, isn't it? I'm always trying to catch up with all the photos that I take. I guess I'm not doing too bad, though as at least I'm up to 2011.

Here are some layouts that I completed this week...

You'll have to excuse the poor photos. I just wanted to get them posted in a hurry. You can see the detail clearer if you actually click on the photos.

I should have some cards to show you later this weekend so be sure to stop by again really soon.

See you then!

Two cards for two parties

Welcome to the long weekend!

We have two parties this weekend starting tonight with a party for a little friend of ours. This is the card I made for him, using a card from Teneale Williams as inspiration...

Cute little fella, ain't he? He's from the adorable Make a Monster set that I bought for one of my daughters. Doesn't hurt that I get to use it too! Not sure if you can see it but I've used some Crystal Effects on his eyes to give them a glossy look and on the balloon accents. Colour used are Old Olive, Marina Mist, Whisper White. The sentiment is from the hostess set, Afterthoughts.

Now for the next card. This one is for a male friend of ours...

I love this image, poor guy! I also used Crystal Effects on the balloons. Can you see it? It gives them a great finish. The background present image and the balloons are from one of the All in the Family add-on sets which of course, I can't remember the name of and am too lazy to go upstairs and check - ha ha! The sentiment on the front is from the retired Vintage Labels set. Colours are Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, More Mustard, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery.

Well, off to get ready for one of those parties. Catch you soon. Enjoy your weekend and drive safely.

Communion Cards

You may have read all about Mia and her cousin, Alexandra's Communion this past weekend. Well, here are the cards I made for them...

I used the same little card toppers that I had made for the invitations as I had just happened to have two left over. I just adore that little angel.

Well, that's all for today. Not a bad effort, me thinks.

Take care and guard yourselves against those Winter ailments. First day of Winter tomorrow, you know. Yuk!

Demi's Preschool Graduation

This time I have a layout of Demi's preschool graduation...

The teachers made each child their own cardboard graduation hat (I know it must have a name but I sure don't know what it is) and each child was dressed up like a real little graduate. Too cute! Such clever teachers.

Colours used were So Saffron and Basic Black. The letters were cut using the alphabet dies.

Where are you going? Don't move! Another post coming right up!

Mia's Year Three Layout

I'm very pleased to have had some time to do some scrapbooking today. I had a few half-finished layouts that I needed to finish and here is one of them...

These photos of Mia were taken on the first day of school earlier this year, as she was about to embark on Year Three. What a big girl she is!

Again, I used the Sew Suite stamp set, which I think adapts very well to school layouts.

Colour used were Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Night of Navy and some DSP that I had bought years ago but never got around to using. I used some brads to embellish.

I'll be back soon with another couple (yes, a couple!!!) of posts soon. Stay tuned.
