A Bunch of New Year Cards

The end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013 is looking to be full of birthdays and occasions for us so I spent a few hours yesterday making lots of cards. They had to be quick and simple so I could get them all done.

Here they all are:

This first one is for my sis. I used Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Rose Red and Whisper White cardstock. The background was stamped with the retired Baroque Border wheel in Crumb Cake ink. The image was stamped in Rose Red and Certainly Celery, and punched out using a circle punch and the large scallop Circle punch. The little flower is from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, and was embellished with an adhesive rhinestone.

This next one is for my sister-in-law and features the Bright Blossoms and Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp sets in Basic Black, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise on a Whisper White card base. The flowers were punched with punches from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and a punch from my stash.

The following card is for our little neighbour who turned two. I just had to use this cute, little image as it looks just like him! He was stamped with black StazOn ink on Whisper White cardstock and I coloured him with markers. The background was stamped with the retired Rough Texture wheel in Crumb Cake ink. Cardstock colours are Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy and Certainly Celery. The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes.

This next one is for my mother-in-law and was super-quick to make, again, with the Bright Blossoms and Afterthoughts stamp sets. Cardstock colours are Crumb Cake, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White.

Lastly, I have a card featuring the little owl from the Aviary stamp set. He was stamped in Cherry Cobbler. The cage and sentiment were stamped in Basic Black. The sentiment is from the retired Vintage Labels stamp set. Again, I included a little flower punched with a punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack. Cardstock colours are Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.

Phew, that's it.

I take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year. I hope it brings you all happiness, love and good health.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my Blog this past year. I really appreciate it. I hope I have inspired you in some way. Be sure to visit often in 2013, as one of my New Year resolutions is to craft more often!!! Be sure to leave me lots of comments as they really make me smile.

Take care, and enjoy your celebrations tonight.

Blue Ribbon Birthday

My little Demi has a party tomorrow and I relished the opportunity to make a cutesy card (my favourite type of card to make) for the occasion. Here it is...

The base of the card is Crumb Cake. The background was created with stamps from the Extreme Elements in Versamark. I used the Blue Ribbon stamp set alongside a gorgeous little girl with her camera. I stamped her on Whisper White cardstock in black StazOn and coloured her with SU markers. The ribbon was stamped with Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink, and was punched with the Large Scallop Circle and circle punches. And yes, I had to throw my little flower punched with a punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack. I used adhesive pearls for embellishing.

I hope Demi has a blast at the party tomorrow.

See you soon.

Andrea :)

Tree Trimmings Christmas Cards

Some more Christmas cards a to show you today. There were very quick to make, and feature the Tree Trimming stamp set.

This Crumb Cake card was stamped with the snowflake from the Winter Post stamp set in Versamark ink to create the background. The sentiment on the card is from any Merry Messages and the sentiment on the tag is from Merry and Type. They were stamped with black StazOn ink. The "to/from" stamp is from the Winter Post stamp set. The thread was drawn on with a Basic Black marker.

Believe it or not, these first lot of cards were a bit of a trial run for next year's Christmas Cards and tags, as I plan to change the colour scheme of my Christmas tree, and I want the gift tags to match when I place the presents under my tree. I have already bought a complete set of new baubles and decorations (at half price of course!) in pale pinks and plum/burgundy, hence the Bravo Burgundy baubles. And I usually wrap my presents in brown craft paper, hence the Crumb Cake base. Anyway, here they are...

This next card card is very simple indeed, which goes to show that you can create pretty Christmas cards quite quickly. This sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season stamp set. It was stamped in black StazOn ink.

The last card features a snowflake embossed Bashful Blue background with baubles "rock 'n' rolled" in Bashful Blue and Night of Navy. The baubles are "hanging" with linen thread.

For those of you who may not have heard of the term, "rock 'n' rolling" is the process whereby the stamp is inked with a lighter coloured ink, and then the edges of the same image are inked with a darker coloured ink by "rolling" the edges of the image on the ink pad.

Not bad for one crafting sitting. :)

Well, see you all again soon.

Take care.
Andrea

More Post-It Note Holders

Here are some more Post-It Note holders I made this week. I'm really enjoying making them. So much fun!

Just love this image. She's so sweet with big, gorgeous eyes that I've enhanced with Crystal Effects. She was coloured with SU markers and I added that favourite little flower of mine from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, and adhesive pearls for earrings. The sentiment is from Afterthoughts. Colours used were Whisper White, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink.

Can't wait to make some more!

Post-It Note Holder

I have been meaning to make one of these for ages, so today I bit the bullet and instead of making a card for a school friend of Mia's, I made a Post-It Note holder!!!

It was so easy to make, following instructions that I found all over the net. I love the bright colours of and the cute image. The sentiment is from Afterthoughts. The little flower in the girls hair was punched with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.

I'll definitely be making a lot more of these. Love 'em!

Goodnight peeps! :)

More Chrissy Cards

Hi guys!

Back again today with some more Chrissy cards. Here is the first one...

Colours used were Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler. The background was stamped with the En Francais in Black ink. The ornaments from the Delightful Decorations stamp set were stamped in Cherry Cobbler, rock 'n' rolled in Basic Black, and embellished with adhesive rhinestones and silver twine. The ribbon was punched using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch.

This next card is similar to the previous one, except that I used Garden Green, and the feature wreath is from the Welcome Christmas stamp set. This time I used adhesive red pearls to embellish...

The next card is very simple...

It features stars in two sizes punched with both star punches, and a sentiment from the Greetings of the Season stamp set, embellished with adhesive pearls. Colours are Whisper White, Bravo Burgundy, Real Red, Ruby Red and Cherry Cobbler.

Finally, we have this card featuring the Frosty Friends stamp and a sentiment from the Greetings of the Season stamp set...

The snowmen were coloured in with markers and I used glitter glue for the snow.

That's it! Hope these provide some sort of inspiration for your Christmas cards.

Catch you all soon.

Christmas Cards 2012

I didn't think I was ever going to get around to making Christmas cards this year - honestly, but just when I'd almost given up hope, I got some spare time and voila!

I really like how this one turned out. I used Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Garden Green cardstock, and black StazOn ink. The stamp sets I used were En Francais for the background and the retired Welcome Christmas set. The "ribbon" was cut using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch. The little leaves are from the Lovely as a Tree set. They were embellished with red adhesive pearls.

The next card features a whimsical little Christmas tree stamped in black StazOn ink, which again, has been embellished with red adhesive pearls and silver glitter. Cardstock colours used were Real Red and Whisper White. The sentiment (one of my favourites) is from Many Merry Messages.

My final card was made using the unconventional Christmas cardstock colours of Crumb Cake and Pretty in Pink. The script background was stamped with En Francais in Versa Mark ink. The pink background was stamped also stamped in Versa Mark ink with the snowflake from the Winter Post stamp set. I then stamped the same snowflake again on Crumb Cake with Versa Mark, heat embossed it with white embossing powder, punched it out with a circle punch, and mounted it on a large scallop circle. The little flowers were punched with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, which I have to say was "my buy" of 2012. The flowers were embellished with an adhesive pearl. Again, the "ribbon" was cut using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch.

I have a couple more to show you but they will have to wait for a day or so as it's getting late. Catch you again soon. Zzzz....

Pencil Christmas Favours/Gifts

Now I know how Santa's elves feel at this time of year. I have been working (OK, I use the term "working" loosely) all day to get my girls'  little Christmas gifts ready to give to their classmates this year. Not much to  them but they still take a bit of time to assemble. Here they are.

First, Demi's gifts for the boys - pencils with rocket ship eraser toppers:

Next, Demi's gifts for the girls - pencils with butterfly eraser toppers:

Here is a closeup of the tags. They were stamped with a stamp from the retired Punches Three stamp set in Bravo Burgundy, cut using the scallop square punch, and embellished with an ahesive rhinestone:

Here is the back of one of the tags which has been stamped with a personalised stamp:

Here are all of Demi's pencils ready for transportation to school:

Now, here are Mia's pencils with little animal eraser toppers:

Everything else is pretty much the same except for the tag and ribbon colours. This time I used a silver ink pad that I had lying around and Real Red:

Mia's personalised stamp on the back:

All ready for distribution. :)

That's all from me today. Hope to find some more time soon to show you some scrapbooking pages of the girls' school and swimming carnival photos.

Until then, take care.

Just No Time

Hi everyone.

Don't know how I managed to get a card done. It has been so hectic around here lately that I haven't done been able to do any crafting at all. :( I'm just desperate to  get back into the swing of things but I can't see much happening until at least after Christmas. Another :(

Anyway, I did somehow manage to make this card this morning for a little friend of Demi's. It's very simple but hey, that's what I like. Quick and simple.

The colours I used were Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White. I stamped the gorgeous image in black StazOn ink onto watercolour paper and coloured it in with markers. The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes.

I'm off to put my Christmas tree up. How exciting.

Take care.

Andrea :)

Happy Halloween 2012!

Happy Halloween Eve!

My girls can't wait to go trick or treating tomorrow afternoon. Everything is ready, including our treat bags...

I have to add that this is just a small selection of the treat bags I've made. There is another large container full of treat bags that I didn't photograph!

Supplies used:

Cello bags, Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set, ribbon and string, various colours of SU cardstock, Large Scallop Circle Punch, various circle punches, googly eyes and adhesive rhinestones.

They were so much fun to make. My girls loved filling the bags for me. Actually, I think they liked eating some of the lollies as they filled the bags. :)

Well, that's all from me. Happy "trick or treating" tomorrow!
