Two cards for two parties

Welcome to the long weekend!

We have two parties this weekend starting tonight with a party for a little friend of ours. This is the card I made for him, using a card from Teneale Williams as inspiration...

Cute little fella, ain't he? He's from the adorable Make a Monster set that I bought for one of my daughters. Doesn't hurt that I get to use it too! Not sure if you can see it but I've used some Crystal Effects on his eyes to give them a glossy look and on the balloon accents. Colour used are Old Olive, Marina Mist, Whisper White. The sentiment is from the hostess set, Afterthoughts.

Now for the next card. This one is for a male friend of ours...

I love this image, poor guy! I also used Crystal Effects on the balloons. Can you see it? It gives them a great finish. The background present image and the balloons are from one of the All in the Family add-on sets which of course, I can't remember the name of and am too lazy to go upstairs and check - ha ha! The sentiment on the front is from the retired Vintage Labels set. Colours are Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, More Mustard, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery.

Well, off to get ready for one of those parties. Catch you soon. Enjoy your weekend and drive safely.

A Doctor in the Family!

Hello everyone!

I made a card yesterday to send to my nephew in Perth who will be graduating from university next month as a doctor!!! I can't believe he left to study in Perth four years ago. Time sure does fly but luckily, he will be coming home to Sydney as soon as he graduates.

Here is the card...

I just love the endless possibilities of the All in the Family and accessories sets. I can't get enough of them at the moment. Can't you tell? ;)
The sentiment is from the Tenny Tiny Sentiments set. Colours used were Crumbcake & Bashful Blue. The image was coloured with SU markers & the sentiment was punched using the Word Window punch.
Well, take care & enjoy your weekend!

Way Ahead of Myself.

I wasn't going to show you these until next year but I thought, "well, why not."

These are the cards I made for my girls' birthdays in march next year, yes next year. I had made card for our little neighbour, Zoe, which you may remember, & my girls loved it so I thought I'd make them similar cards...

I just LOVE the All in the Family set! I love how you can create so many different little people and make them look like the recipient of the card. I'm quite proud of myself for coming up with the idea of stamping the letters of my girls' names on the dresses. Had you noticed? A little hard to see, I know.

The cardstock colours I used for these cards were Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, and Certainly Celery. The images were stamped in black StazOn ink on watercolour paper using the Stampamajig for perfect placement, coloured with SU markers, punched with the smaller square punch & mounted on larger squares

The letters spelling out my girls' names were cut using the alphabet dies.

The sentiments are from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set and were punched with the word window punch. The girls ages were stamped and punched with the jewellery tag punch.

The various embellishments are from my stash.

I have to say I really love these cards, probably because I can just picture the reaction they're going to receive when I eventually give them to my beautiful girls.

Andrea :)

OOPS! - Almost forgot to tell you that I finally got around to stamping all of the images from the All in the Family set & the other add-on sets permanently onto acetate using StazOn ink & the Stampamajig to save me doing it every time. It's a big time saver, let me tell you!

Juggler Boy

Hi everyone!

What great weather we're having here in Sydney. The girls have just jumped in the pool with their dad so I've just snuck away to show you this card that I made today...

It was inspired by the son of a friend of ours who has learnt to juggle.

I used the All in the Family stamp set which I've had for ages, plus the Family Favourites add on set, which I've only just acquired. The sentiment is from the Silhouette Sentiments hostess set.

Colours used were Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Certianly Celery. The charm, string & DSP are from my stash.

Well, I hope you like the card & I hope you enjoy this fantastic weekend.

Bye all....

Fifth Out of Five Posts!

Are you proud of me for honouring my promise to post every day this week? I am - ha ha!

Well, today I have my final and very different post for the week...

I made this card for our little neighbour, Zoe who will be turning ONE early next month. I was inspired by this card by Marelle Taylor that I found here, but I was unable to locate it on her website.

I was so happy to use the All in the Family set again. It's just so adorable and versatile. The images were coloured with markers, punched with the square punch and mounted on larger Chocolate Chip squares. It was my first time using the little jewellery tag punch too! The little heart was punched out using the Heart to Heart punch.

I really hope she (or at least her mummy) likes it.

Well, that's it! Phew!

I'll probably have a few days break from posting after that mega effort. So until then, take care.

Breaking in my Circle Scissors Plus.

Hello everyone.

I'm so glad to be back after a little Blogging holiday. Ok, so it wasn't really a holiday but a couple of very busy weeks worrying & running to & from hospital to see my dad in between all the evreyday running around. I'm glad to report that as of today he is home to recuperate from an operation to remove numerous aneurysms. He had a scar from his groin to his ankle held together with 101 staples!

My Blogging comeback comes because of a need to create a card for my husband's godson and because I just couldn't hold off using my Circle Scissor Plus circle cutting system.

This is the card I came up with...

In the second photograph you can just catch a glimpse of how I've decorated the inside of the card.
To make this card I dug out some retired paper & used it for the colour inspiration of Chocolate Chip &Soft Sky (retired). The little guy is from the cute All in the Family stamp set. He has been stamped on a watercolour paper circle cut using the Circle Scissors Plus & matted on larger cardstock circles cut that were cut in the same way. The smaller circles were all created with different size punches. The sentiment is from the Hostess Level 1 set, Best Yet.
I hope you like it & I hope you have a great weekend. Hope to see you again early in the week.

Andrea.

Can't get enough of the "Family"

As promised, here are some more All in the Family cards.

First up are two cards very similar to the ones in my previous post...

...and secondly is the Father's Day card I made for my hubby...

I know the girls will make their own cards for their Dad, but I just wanted to make one for him too. I just LOVE making these cards! They look so cute!

I won't list all the supplies, but if you want any information in relation to the cards, please feel free to ask.

Bye for now.

My craft room!

Went shopping today & bought some furniture for my NEW craft room. Hubby is assembling it all as I type & I can't wait until it's all set up. I've never had craft room before. I used to store my stuff in the laundry & stamp on the kitchen bench top so as you can imagine, it's very exciting. The room will double as a study for my girls too, so they, too are excited. I'll keep you posted.

Anyway, I did manage to stamp on the floor & make some more cards using the cute little All in the Family characters. Stamping in a such an untidy room has stumped my creativity so I have stuck with the same layout.

Here are the cards:

Supplies: All in the Family & Short & Sweet stamp sets, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue cardstock, watercolour paper, black StazOn ink, Chocolate Chip & Bashful Blue markers, blender pen, square punches, oval punches, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder & my Big Kick.

Supplies: As above except that the colours used were Not Quite Navy, Pumpkin Pie & Old Olive. Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder.

Have a great start to the week.

We moved!

Well, we finally moved into our new house over the long weekend. What an enormous task!

My crafting supplies are lying a big heap in my one-day-to-be craft room. I stamped away on the floor to create two cards. Sorry about the photos. I was in a real hurry to photograph them & they didn't turn out the best.

The first is for our neighbours who just welcomed a little daughter into the world last week. I love Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink & Very Vanilla combination. So sweet. Again, I used my beloved All in the Family stamp set & the Short & Sweet set for the sentiment. I also used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder with my Big Kick, Pretty in Pink Ribbon & my square & oval punches.

The second card is for a little friend who is turning 6 this weekend. I used the Just Cricket & Short & Sweet stamp sets with Chocolate Chip, Real Red & Very Vanilla colours. I also used my Cuttlebug Swiss DOts embossing folder with my Big Kick, and oval punches.

I hope they inspire you with your creations in some way.

Well, thank goodness it's the weekend. I feel completely exhausted so it won't be long before I'm off to bed. I hope you all enjoy your weekend. Take care.

All in the Family birthday card

This is a birthday card I made for one of Mia's classmate's party...

I just can't stop using these little people from the All in the Family stamp set! They are soooo cute, don't you agree?

For this one I used my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder with my Big Kick on Very Vanilla cardstock, and Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink cardstock too. I stamped the images on watercolour paper using a Stampamajig for perfect stamp alignment & coloured them in using the ink pads and my Blender Pens. I punched them with the 1 and 1/4 inch square punch & mounted them onto 1 and 3/8 square punch outs. I also used my new and fabulous eyelet border punch. The sentiment is from Short and Sweet and was punched out using the large oval punch.

Go the punches - love 'em!

All in the Family again

I couldn't stop at one All in the Family card so here is the second...

This one is for one of Mia's little school friends. Cute, don't you think?

And here is the matching tag I made to put on the recipient's gift bag...

Thanks for stopping by!

All in the Family

I have had this All in the Family set for quite some but this is the first time I have actually made cards with it & I really enjoyed the experience!

First up is a card I made for my sister-in-law. She asked me to make a baby card for some friends of hers. Here it is...

I'm a little tired tonight to post all the details for you but if you have any questions, please just ask.

Goodies for Mia's classmates.

These are the little goodies Mia gave to her classmates today in celebration of her sixth birthday...

Lip balms for the girls...

...and Ben 10 pens for the boys...

I thought it was a better idea than taking cakes or lolly bags, especially since there are a couple of children in her class with food allergies. Apparently, they were a hit!

They were decorated using both size tag punches, the Think Happy Thoughts and All in the Family stamp sets & grosgrain ribbons. The lip balms are from Avon (yes, I'm an Avon Rep too). They are a lovely match with the Groovy Guava & Certainly Celery colours, don't you think?
