My First Ever Acetate Card!

Here it is, my first ever acetate card...

Gosh, acetate is a little fiddly to ply with and not to mention so difficult to photograph. This is the best I could do. Can you see it? I think it turned out quite pretty & I'll save it for my Mum's birthday in October.

For this card I used Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, Whisper White and Certainly Celery. I used En Francais for the background and the flowers, which were 'rock and rolled' in Pretty in Pink and Basic Black, are from Vintage Vogue. They have a half pearl in their centres. The sentiment is from Wonderful Favourites. It was punched out with the large oval punch and mounted on a scallop oval piece. The ribbon is Certainly Celery grosgrain.

Well, I'm off to start experimenting on decorating a cake for my birthday next week. If it turns out OK, I'll be sure to post some photos, but only if.... ha ha!

Thursday's Post

Thursday is here which means that I have another post for you!



I thought I'd give you a break from Mr Birdie so this time I have used the Vintage Vogue stamp set, together with the En Francais background stamp and Top Note and Little leaves die cuts. I also used the oval punch and Pretty in Pink ribbon. The sentiment is from the Wonderful Favourites set.

Petal Pizzaz Card and Gift Bag

Hello!

Here is a gift bag & card that I made for my Mum's birthday next month...






It's OK. she doesn't read my Blog - ha ha!

For these projects I used the Petal Pizzaz stamp set teamed with the now retired Brocade Background papers (I'm pretty sure that's the name of it but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). Colours used were the also obsolete River Rock & Chocolate Chip. Tools & accessories used were circle punches, scallop circle punch, oval punches, gold brads, Chocolate Chip ribbon & twine. The sentiment is from Wonderful Favourites set.

Things have been quiet on the Blogging front as I've been slowly working on the girls birthday invitations for nest year, and coming up with Christmas cards for a class I'm doing next next week. I have almost prepared the kits so I've feeling very productive.

Father's Day Fishies

Here is the card that I have made for Father's Day for both my father & my father-in-law...

It was my first attempt using this Just Beachy set from the Spring Mini Catalogue & it was a lot of fun.

Can't get enough of the "Family"

I know the girls will make their own cards for their Dad, but I just wanted to make one for him too. I just LOVE making these cards! They look so cute!

Make 'n' Take

Here is the Make 'n' Take from my Demo on the weekend...

Since Father's Day will be upon us before we blink, I went with a Father's Day or masculine themed card. Yes, it is that layout again, but in my defence, I had prepared the packs before I promised to not repeat that same layout - ha ha!

Supplies used: Very Vanilla, Basic Black and Sahara Sand cardstock, Basic Black ink, Seaside and Wonderful Favourites stamp sets, square punches and oval punches.

Very simple but very effective.

Mother's Day Flower Pot Card

This is the card I have made for my Mum for Mother's Day...



The card is my take on those gorgeous flower pot cards going around on the Splitcoat Stampers website.

For my card I used somethings old, like the Soft Sky cardstock, Afternoon Tea papers & the Rough Texture wheel, & somethings new, such as the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set.

I think it turned out quite special which is always appropriate when it comes to your Mum, right? Now I can't wait to give it to her.

Other supplies used: Chocolate Chip & Whisper Whitecardstock & ink, Chocolate Chip ribbon, Wonderful Favourites stamp set, Corber Rounder punch to create the scallop effect & the Window punch. I think that's it!

Wedding Cards

My friend, Alex who is new to stamping, asked me to help her come up with a wedding card. I thought I'd use the elegant Mostly Flowers stamp set, since this is one of the sets that she owns. Well, I came up with two cards:

Alex chose to replicate the Certainly Celery card and did a great job.

I was wondering what I was going to do with the card that I had made, when out of the blue, we received a wedding invitation the next day! How funny. My card will now not go to waste.

Spring Solitude

Here is the card I made for Victoria's upcoming birthday, Please, nobody show her!


There is something about this card that I really like. Maybe it's the Pink Passion.

World Card Making Day Workshop

These are the three items we'll be making during this Sunday's workshop to mark World Card Making Day. As most of the attendees are newcomers to stamping, I tried to make the projects simple and easy to make in order to demonstrate that you don't need numerous stamps sets and supplies to produce beautiful items.

This is a little triangular box inspired by Diane Barnes, made using:
